NBA DFS Sunday 3.10.19

We have an eight-game slate tonight where we should be in for plenty of high scoring games, which is perfect for DFS. There are a ton of high-priced players on the slate tonight, so let’s look at some cheaper options, which should allow you the salary relief to jam in those top studs.

Stephen Curry, Point Guard, Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are at home and come in as massive -17 point favorites, which can present a bit of blowout risk, but we should see plenty of fantasy points before that. This game has an over-under set at 234 points, which is the second highest on the slate and with the Suns coming in 26th in defensive efficiency Curry should rack up the points quickly. In the three games Curry has played against the Suns this season, Curry has averaged 32 minutes per game, while posting a whopping 49 fantasy points per game. Those are some impressive numbers and with Curry only 9.1K on DraftKings tonight, he seems a bit too cheap today and should be a top target for you in any type of contests.

Ian Clark, Shooting Guard, New Orleans Pelicans

Clark saw 26 minutes in his most recent games since Jrue Holiday is out with an injury and he should be in for much of the same tonight. Clark is nearly minimum salary on both sites and brings a massive amount of salary relief on this smaller six-game slate. He will be facing off against the Hawks in a game where the over-under is set at 237 points, which is the highest on the slate and only has the Hawks favored by two points. This sets up to be a fantastic fantasy environment since we have little risk for a blowout and the Hawks come in 26th in defensive efficiency against shooting guards this season. Clark is a very low risk play since he is so cheap and if his minutes continue to trend upwards, he should easily be able to reach value in this soft matchup.

Jonathan Isaac, Small Forward, Orlando Magic

Isaac has been impressive as of late and comes in with 25 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games a trend which should continue today against the Grizzlies, who are near the bottom of the league in several defensive metrics. The Magic will be playing down in pace by a slight margin today, but actually come in as one point road favorites in this game, which should set up for Isaac to reach that 25 point fantasy mark again. He has a low usage rate of only 14.6% and producing 0.85 fantasy points per minute, so look for him as a floor play at an affordable salary compared to a massive ceiling performance.

Gorgui Dieng, Center, Minnesota Timberwolves

This is pure speculation here, but Dieng might be getting the start today, but that is nowhere near confirmed as of right now. Last night, Karl-Anthony Towns went down with a knee injury and didn’t return to the game. From all reports, it’s unclear what his actual status is, but highly doubtful he plays on the second night of a back to back. Dieng is also nearly minimum salary on both sites tonight and is facing off against the Knicks who are already eliminated from the playoffs and come in 22nd overall in defensive efficiency. We know the Knicks are in tank for Zion mode and they have been a team to target all season, so we shouldn’t be stopping that know. Dieng realistically needs about 22ish fantasy points on either site to exceed 5x salary based value, which should be firmly in play if he sees elevated minutes.
