NBA DFS Wednesday, December 5th
20 NBA teams will be in action on Wednesday night, and there are a few interesting matchups. Toronto is hosting the 76ers, where two MVP candidates Kawhi and Embiid will battle it out. Lakers will try to beat the Spurs for the first time this year, and it will be interesting in Milwaukee who are hosting the surprisingly good Detroit team. Here are my DFS picks for Wednesday, December 5th:
D'Angelo Russell, Point Guard, Brooklyn Nets
I have D'Angelo in my fantasy league, and while he is killing me with his shooting (40% from the field) he is posting pretty good overall numbers. Since Caris Levert got injured, D'Angelo is averaging 40 FPTS per game and is still not too expensive at 7700$ and 7800$ on DK and FD.
However, he is playing against the good defense of Oklahoma City and his shots will probably not fall at a high rate. Russell is averaging about 20 field goal attempts per game in his last 10 games, so that shouldn't count too much on his fantasy output, and I would still choose him at point guard.
If you want to go cheaper; Trae Young could be a nice option against a horrendous defense of the Washington Wizards.
Malcolm Brogdon, Shooting Guard, Milwaukee Bucks
Malcolm Brogdon won Rookie of the Year a couple of years ago, but nobody really remembers that or talks about him that much. Game of Zones made fun of that fact in one of the recent episodes as well.
However, Brogdon is pretty productive for the Bucks this year. He's shooting the ball extremely well and averages 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He is a cheaper option at the shooting guard position, and if you want to spend more money you can go for DeRozan or Bradley Beal, who is playing well lately.
Also, don't be surprised if Andrew Wiggins picks his play up. He had one of the better games of the season last game, he should be motivated to produce again against the Hornets and is pretty cheap too.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Small Forward, Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis is a juggernaut. He is the no.1 in the latest MVP rankings and is absolutely crushing it this year. It's a surprise when he scores less than 50 FPTS, and he's averaging 67.4 FPTS in the last 3 games. There are plenty of other stars playing on Wednesday, but it's a safe bet to spend most of your fantasy salary on Giannis.
Anthony Davis would be my second option, you can't go wrong with either one of these guys.
Kyle Kuzma, Power Forward, Los Angeles Lakers
Kyle Kuzma is on a mini hot streak. He received praise from analysts and from his teammates, and after a slow couple of weeks he finally picked up his production and scored over 40 FPTS in the last two games. This streak could easily continue against the Spurs, who are not playing great this year and who could miss the playoffs for the first time in 20 years.
Kuzma scored 37 against them in the first game of these two teams, granted in an overtime game when Ingram and Rondo were suspended. Still, he should overproduce his salary of 6000$ on DK and 6300$ on FD.
Joel Embiid, Center, Philadephia 76ers
One of my favorite players in the league, and of my fantasy favorites as well. Best center in the league, averaging 54.4 FPTS per game. If you want to go cheaper, consider Julius Randle if Mirotic is out of the lineup against the Mavs. Without Mirotic, Randle scored a season-high 37 points.
If Mirotic does play, Randle probably won't be as effective and then you can go for somebody like Javale Mcgee, who is the league leader in blocks per game.
Lou Williams, Point Guard, Los Angeles Clippers
Lou Williams is one of the safest bets you can make in DFS. For 4900$ on DK and 5700$ on FD, you can expect around 30 FPTS per game pretty consistently. Always a candidate for 6th man of the year, Lou continues to provide scoring and playmaking for the conference-leading Clippers (sounds weird, I know).
Harrison Barnes, Power Forward, Dallas Mavericks
Harrison Barnes is a 20ppg scorer in the NBA for the last 3 seasons. He should be valued more at Fanduel (6500$) and if you are playing DFS there, consider taking Barnes because he is improving his play after he recovered from the injury at the beginning of the season.
Kevon Looney, Center, Golden State Warriors
Kevon Looney is usually not a good fantasy pick. Steve Kerr changes his center rotation quickly and Kevon rarely plays more than 10-15 minutes. However, due to injuries of Draymond Green, Cousins, and Damian Jones; Looney will see more playing time.
Last game against Atlanta he had a stat line of 14/5/5, along with 2 blocks and 2 steals, which was good enough for 34 FPTS. He will play big minutes against Cleveland and is a pretty nice DFS pickup for a cheap salary of 3700$ on DK and 3800$ on FD. Picking him would allow you to spend big on the most productive players like Giannis and Embiid, while still maintaining quality production.
