After an Art Ross winning 2017-18 campaign, the Oilers' captain looks to be locked in for another 100+ point season. At 21 years of age and blessed with his elite vision, dynamic speed, and scoring touch McDavid will be terrifying defenders and goalies alike for years to come. He has been reported to be focusing his off-season workouts on improving his shot and face-off abilities, so watch for an improvement on last year's 41 goals and 47% in faceoffs. The consensus number one pick will continue to push the Oilers and poolies offensive categories into the stratosphere.

Now entering his third year under centre for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Matthews continues to grow into one of the most complete players in the game today. Posting 40 goals as a freshman is no easy feat, and Matthews again put up 34 goals in just 62 appearances last season with his incredible hands and quick release. Now having John Tavares joining up with the Buds this year defenses will have to pick their poison as to where to send their shutdown pairings an any given night. Watch for a career best season.

At just 20 years of age, Patrik Laine has everything it takes to become the next goal-scoring giant in the NHL and he knows it too. Already owning a body of 6'4" and 200+ pounds, this man-child has a lot of room to grow and all the time to do it. With a skillset of great speed, a rocket shot and deft hands he will perennially challenging for the Rocket Richard trophy while leaving goaltenders shaking in their skates. An incredible sequel to his rookie campaign last year, saw him rack up 44 goals and 70 points in 82 games. It looks to be only a matter of time till Laine is pushing for 50 goals, 300 SOG and 100+ hits which would put him in rarefied air for rotisserie scoring and multi-category dominance.

Though playing second-fiddle to Connor McDavid in the 2015 NHL entry draft, Jack Eichel is on the cusp of becoming a superstar in his own right with the Buffalo Sabres. Already owning one of the most lethal shots in the NHL at the ripe age of 21, Eichel will continue to reward poolies who own him with his balance of goal scoring and playmaking abilities. With a goal total of 25 last year in 67 games played, you can bet your hat on Eichel moving into the 30+ and potentially 40 goal territory in the near future. Now with taking the Sabres to the playoffs firmly in his mind his drive will push Buffalo and fantasy teams to the next level.

One of just four players to post an even strength Corsi For percentage over 50 percent (50.24) on the Avalanche's roster last season, Rantanen predictably posted his best season of his short NHL career with 84 points -- 29 goals and 55 assists -- over 81 games. Still only 21, there's plenty of room for development and improvement on his numbers, especially playing with talent like Nathan MacKinnon.

Surrounded by a talented squad in Carolina, Aho looked right at home and ready to play with the big boys from game one in. With plenty of offensive acumen, skating ability and high-level playmaking, the Hurricanes have done themselves well in finding this prospect. Following an impressive 49-point rookie season, Aho once again exceeded expectations in 2017-18 by leading the Hurricanes in scoring with 65 points in 78 games. He failed to register a goal in his first 15 games but made up for that with a five-game consecutive goal streak in November.

Mitch Marner may lack imposing physicality, but he has shown the league that his dynamic speed, creativity and passing ability is more than enough to put NHL defensemen on their heels most nights. An impressive display of talent with 69 points in 82 games, Marner showed the Maple Leafs brass that he was ready and well equipped to step-in and contribute at a top level as a sophomore. Stepping into his third year upcoming, and likely a few pounds heavier, Marner looks to be a lock for highlight level performance with the offensively gifted Toronto outfit. Though never to confused with having a power-type game, Marner should continue to rise in the ranks of coveted points producers in the years to come.

This kid knows how to mix it up on the ice, and looks to becoming a fantasy rotisserie monster in the near future. Just last year, he put up 49 points, 61 PIMs, 188 SOG and 80 hits in only 68 games played. He obviously isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and with his truculent style of play he'll be opening space for himself and line mates a-like, while crashing creases and getting under the skin of his opponents. If he can win some more offensive trust from the coaching staff, his offensive numbers could significantly climb, as he only saw 35.7% offensive zone starts last season. Look for big things in year two from this Arizona export.

Konecny built upon his rookie season behind a very strong second half that helped him finish with 24 goals and 47 points in 2017-18. In January, the 21-year-old received a chance to play more often with the Flyers' top line, and he took advantage, scoring 18 goals and 31 points with a plus-18 rating in the final 37 games. Opportunity is knocking for Konecny, whom the Flyers claimed 24th overall in the 2015 draft, and he has the talent to answer the call. Snag him late in drafts and reap the rewards.

A lingering shoulder injury that eventually required offseason surgery prevented Werenski from building on his impressive rookie performance, but the 21-year-old was still able to make an impact with a career-high 16 goals. When he's healthy, he's a dynamic power-play quarterback and offensive threat at even strength, showing excellent passing skills and hockey IQ. The eighth overall pick in 2015 displayed great vision and passing ability on the attack, as well as an uncanny knack for getting his shot through traffic from the point, and his presence was one of the key ingredients in a revitalized Columbus power play through the early part of the season.
