Austin Hooper

2017 Season Outlook

With Jacob Tamme gone, the second year player out of Stanford slides into the starting tight end role in Atlanta. Just two seasons ago that move would have been enough to raise some serious attention, but the addition of some wide receiver depth last offseason and the increased utilization of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman in the passing game really drive down the potential fantasy value of the tight end position in Atlanta. Just two seasons ago Tamme saw 81 targets in this offense, while last season he and Hooper combined for just 58. A capable receiver and red zone weapon, Hooper likely needs an injury or departure in order to move up in the pecking order of the Atlanta passing game.
